Cynthia has over 15 years of experience working with consumer product brands. She has always been a visual person- as a child she identified people by the color of their shoes. She excels at the intersection of the creative and the analytical. She is a Doer- she gets things done- either through research, hard work, or finding someone with the answers. She thrives on projects and progress.
In 2021 Cynthia founded Sharing the Wander, a travel blog dedicated to traveling the world with kids. Cynthia is an experienced traveler- from product development research in Paris, to trade shows in Nuremberg and factory visits in China. In her personal life, she has summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, explored Roman ruins in Jordan, and camped out in the Australian outback. She learned WordPress, took a deep dive into SEO, and built a brand around her passion.
Cynthia spent five years as President of Matthews 1812 House, working to transform this specialty food manufacturer from a mail-order company into an efficient e-commerce company. She realigned the company via a full website redesign and re-platform to Shopify, then created a wholesale sales division. She has experience in brand building and promotion, managing PPC, SEO, Google Shopping, Amazon, and all social channels.
While Creative Director at Mudpuppy, a subsidiary of McEvoy Group (Chronicle Books), she focused on strategic brand positioning, creative vision, and growing this toy and gift brand domestically and internationally. She enjoyed collaborating with licensing agencies, retailers, and international distributors. She developed programs with many brand partners including Joester Loria, Nelvana, and The Andy Warhol Foundation.
Cynthia is a tested leader who has grown multiple teams and managed both full-time and seasonal talent. She is adept at gathering input from many sources and easing staff through times of transition. She is an optimist who stays calm under pressure, (yes, even during the holiday shipping rush).
Originally from Connecticut, she earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her Master’s from Pratt Institute.
